Woodbury Resort is located on Kootenay Lake 5km or 3 miles North of the renowned Ainsworth Hot Springs. Accommodations feature six suites and eight cabins as well as 130 recreational vehicle and tenting sites. Located at the resort are a small convenience store, Laundromat, recreation center, pool and sanitary dumping station. Our marina includes a gas dock with accompanying tackle shop that will provide boat rentals and fishing charters. For your dining pleasure we have JB’s Pub and Restaurant serving the highest quality food and beverages.
JB’s Pub and Restaurant
The decor of JB's is casual, up and down, with family dining areas, a licensed pub, and covered patio area where smoking is not permitted. The laid-back atmosphere lends itself to story telling, fishing talk, and outdoor adventure tales of ATV's, boating, and of course, fun. We have live entertainment from time to time, bands to Karaoke.
Woodbury Resort and Marina is a membership resort. Visitors are welcome to try out what we offer. Do you own an ATV? Bring your toys and ride. There are many roads and trails, some more challenging than others; are accessible from the resort taking you to some of the most spectacular scenery in British Columbia. There are also ATV trails from Woodbury Resort to the ghost town of Sandon B.C. through Kokanee Glacier Park.
Scuba Divers can dive the site of the MV Anscomb, a class 7 dive site according to the Underwater Archeological Society of B.C. and located at the end of the dock at Woodbury Marina.
Golfers have convenient access to 4 of the most scenic and challenging courses in the province with few or no waits for Tee times. They are Kokanee Springs, Balfour Golf Course, Riondel Golf Course and Kaslo Golf Course.
Everyone will enjoy a visit to Ainsworth Hot Springs located just minutes down the highway.
At Kootenay Lake, trout are measured in pounds not inches!
Kootenay Lake is home to the incredible Gerrard Rainbow Trout that can grow to over 30 pounds and Bull Trout (Dolly Varden) to over 20 pounds. The summer Kokanee fishery is highly productive, catching your limit usually within a very short time. Woodbury Resort is the host of the two most popular yearly fishing derby’s on the lake, the “Dolly Derby” held during Easter weekend and the “Rainbow Derby” held during the Canadian Thanksgiving long weekend. Fishermen from many provinces and states arrive to compete for money, prizes, and bragging rights. Many come back year after year for the friendly competition, good times, and of course the wind up party.
For over thirty years the Twenty Pounder Club has been an additional challenge and reward for the persistent fisherman. A nominal entry fee and a 20+ pound legally caught fish will get you a hat or pin, recognition, and qualification for the grand prize for the largest Gerrard Rainbow trout caught this year. Remember, like any other lottery, if you do not get a ticket you will not win.
